Book Review: Precalculus - A Prelude to Calculus by Sheldon Axlercategories: Book, Mathematics, Math, Precalculus Concepts, Definitions, Examples, Calculus
Very Frustrating BookI am using this book right now for a precalculus course and find some of Axler's definitions too straight forward and would appreciate more fully developed explanations of concepts. The worked out problems are missing steps too - I would definitely NOT call them fully worked out solutions unless you already know the material and didn't need the worked out solution to begin with. Furthermore, I disagree with the statement that you would be able to understand these concepts without an instructor. I have an instructor and this book STILL makes me want to ram my head through a wall. This book is a loser!
