about this book: I worked with ten year old Rex on Ty the Bull wanting to keep everything organic and honest as possible. There were moments where the words did not come out naturally. It was so close to home that at times just talking about it all hurt.
After a while that hurt turned into strength. It seems Rex has become empowered with the notion of sharing his story with the hopes of helping others. His big thing he wanted to get across was that None of us are alone.
I have seen this young man grow up during this process and has actually turned his negative thinking around. Even his little bracelet business has given him the drive and the confidence to know that he can do ANYTHING he sets his mind to. He now talks about wanting to get good grades because he likes when teaches say nice things about him and he plans to one day start his own business. In his own words. "I was to be a business owner and do something that I made and designed myself."
