Tracey Llavay about this book: I decided to write an updated version of a Blaxploitation novella with a romantic suspense angle. In my attempts to be a little humorous, I scrapped police procedure in favor of drama. Although I know police procedure is crucial, I did not write a police procedural. Instead, I wrote an up-an-coming new category of a Blaxploitation novella. The cover for this novella was inspired by the Queen of Blaxploitation herself—Pam Grier. Like Ms. Grier, the cover is rocking a banging body, which attracts my target audience. Who is my audience? Why that's simply students of the Blaxploitation era. If you were around in the late Sixties through the Seventies, you enjoyed actors such as Jim Brown, Fred Williamson, Teresa Graves and Pam Grier. A young Pam Grier would play my main character, Brandy Ogletree. A taller Fred Williamson would play the love interest, Alvin Jones. Brandy is tough but vulnerable, and there's a lot of character left for sequels.
