Book: Redhead with Fire in His Boots - My Life in Rugby by Peter Harveycategories: Book, Rugby, Sporting Competition, Teaching, Inspiration, Amateur, Professional, Family Life, Great Players, Autobiography
Peter Harveyabout this book: The title of this book was a sub heading in a match in which I played. The book is an autobiography from birth to the present day. Considered so interesting that the editor did not cut any of the stories. Reviewers say that it is a great read with interest for both sexes, though it does have RU and RL as it's main thread. First half was written in 1976 and put away for my children:second half completed about 3 years ago soon after I reached my 70th birthday.
The research for the book was compiled from my scrapbooks with additional newspaper cuttings to check the facts, and one or two books needed to confirm my opinions.
Because this book covers seventy years it is fascinating to see the changes in attitudes in sport.
My life as a teacher is highlighted but not dealt with in detail, similarly my wife and children appear in a supporting role. Life is full of hurdles and I have managed to jump over most of those put in my way.
People reading this book will enjoy good stories well told, a fine narrative with a beginning middle and ending.Very satisfactory from start to finish.
