Laura Folkabout this book: Splinterbone is a book I wrote for two reasons. One was to deal with the passing of my mother, and the other was to help process the physical pain I was undergoing due to arthritis. The cover photo is a picture of an actual bone fragment from my mothers cremation ashes. I did not have a good camera at the time so the picture is blurry. When I touched the bone it disintegrated, almost like my mother's last words. As I was writing the book I discovered a new and different relationship with my mother that changed my life forever.
The title Splinterbone Making Peace With The Pain Of Arthritis, really says it all. The pain of this diseas and many like it is bone splintering. The point of the book is to show you new ways to deal with this pain and also the pain of loosing a loved one. I have a friend that uses the practices in the book regulary to deal with her maladies. She likes the simple, real ways in which I share my story and lead people towards freedom. I think you too will like this fresh approach.
