Walter Parksabout this book: As I got older I began to get many of the diseases of aging. I had several TIAs (mini-strokes) 17 years ago and lost my memory for up to 12 hours at a time. I had 3 heart attacks and had to get stents to cure the TIAs and heart problems.
I developed prostate cancer and had to get weeks of radiation to get rid of the cancer.
I had cataracts in both eyes and had to replace my natural lens with medical inserts. I developed glaucoma and have to take eye drops to prevent eye damage.
I was 70 pounds overweight and looked 20 years older than my actual age, yet I now look 15 years younger than my actual age.
The overall deterioration of the body that comes with growing old is not inevitable. Aging is a treatable disease. I am 77 and believe I will live pass 100.
Tens of millions die from age-related conditions each and every year. That is because they think that it is natural to get old and die and so they do not do anything about their aging.
There are actions you can take today to dramatically improve your health and longevity. The causes of aging are finally being understood.
The things I learned in treating my own health problems led to me writing this book. I believe everyone can benefit from this knowledge. And the sooner you start understanding and treating your aging issues, the more likely it is that you will be able to live a longer, healthier life.
I selected the DNA double helix of life to represent this book cover because that is what this book is all about; life.
I have been jotting notes of my treatments for 17 years. I augmented the things I learned with years of research.
I learned that aging is indeed a treatable disease and I encourage everyone that wants to stay around long enough to grow old to understand what is happening to your body and what you can do about it to live a long healthy life.
