He actually assists in feeding the men, but soon is dragged into the war. After stealing a uniform from a dead American soldier, he meets Major Benjamin Talmadge and becomes his orderly. This book is highly praised by school teachers because it teaches the history of the American revolution is an easy story form. Elijah becomes of spy for the Culper Spy ring, sails with the Whaleboat warriors, ai9ds in the capture of John Andre and eventually rides with Washington in Triumph into New York City.
