Tim Van Mintonabout this book: The Little Yarnmouth Abduction is a dystopian adventure set in the near future. It is a time when the Arctic ice cap has broken apart, leaving icebergs drifting as far south as Scotland. A time where Ice Tugs are used to clear these icebergs out of the busy shipping lanes. This is where Evan Peregrine grew up, on his father's ice tug. It is where he lost his mother and his leg in a terrible accident that still haunts him.
I wrote this book because of my love of the sea and the mystery I find in fjords and cold northern islands populated by rabbits and sea birds. I have used the setting and the state of the environment as the backdrop but also has a catalyst to much of what happens in the story.
The Little Yarnmouth Abduction is the type of book that I would have loved to have read when I was in my teens. In fact it is still the type of book I would love to read as an adult, if I could find one like it!
