Author James H. Barrett Jr.about this book: A Summer to be Treasured starts out with a middle aged man reminiscing on his youth and wondering where the time went. The story is about the man, Josh O'Brien and his three teenage friends that love riding their dirt-bikes. At fifteen years old, nothing much else mattered to them, or so they thought. When things get hairy and the teens tumble into an abandoned mine their priorities change. While in the mine, they encounter an unexpected surprise, which changes everything. The boys end up bringing the whole community closer together with their compassion that no one expected to see!

A Summer to be Treasured is a family friendly entertainment, not only for young adults, but for baby-boomers as well. The story takes place in a Pittsburgh suburb during the 1970's and is a great read for nostalgic fans of that era! It will bring back memories of many things and behaviors that have long since become a thing of the past!
