Donald R. Hoofard, Sr.about this book: My books are about my life, written in a 7 part series, chronicals my life as a Federal Fugitive Recovery Agent over a period of 10 years. They are written as fiction based on real life, mine. I was a federal fugitive apprehensions level Bounty Hunter and private contractor to bring them back, dead or alive to U.S. prosecution.
My inspiration to write about my life comes from having lived it and finding the need to tell someone about that life. And, my own mother's dying request that I write about that unique life few have ever known about until now.
My primary readers are those who love action and suspense novels that are stories told from real life. Those that have yet to decide on a career in criminal justice that need a little inspiration toward that decision. I find that most are high school through college students, graduates, and those already with established careers in law enforcement, and other criminal justice positions at the local, state, and federal levels.
The title was born from my having a need for my lead character to have a name that stood out on the book's cover. And, from my mother's own request that I write about this life of mine. She said,"Son, you need to tell your life's story. It is a life and time thereof like no other and must be told."
The cover shows a man walking away from you holding a semi-automatic, a colt.45. The same weapon I actually carried, and still do. The cover tells you that the book contains danger, suspense, and action.
The hardest part of writing my books is having to tell things about my cases that require my reliving them in all their detail. Recounting those things I'd just soon forget about altogether. But, must recall for the stories to come to life for my readers to get to know me and that past I have endured.
I have learned that telling my stories have helped ease my mind and spirit. It is true that confession is good for the soul.
To my readers it is hoped that they come to know that life of a real bounty hunter through my book's many pages. That they are entertained, as well as educated, from each beginning of my stories, through to their very ends. I want them to experience that life few have ever known, much less, revealed until now.
