Michaela Maria Marshallabout this book: Often told as a child, "what happens in this family stays in this family", Author Michael Maria Marshall (pseudonym) carried her family's secrets for years without her realizing just how dysfunctional her past was or why she was experiencing so many problems with her health and in relationships. The aftermath of these "family secrets" in Michaela's life manifested in the form of depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsiveness, suicidal thoughts, and failed relationships.
Are you struggling with emotional issues but don't know why? Perhaps you too, as Michaela did, have skeletons in your or your family's closet that need to be unveiled to find healing and transformation in your life. By sharing her story, Michaela believes she will give other victims the same courage and determination she had to find the truth about why she felt something was wrong in her life and in her family.
In the midst of treatment for her emotional and relationship problems, Michaela discovered deep dark secrets in her past that she thought at one time only happened in the movies. Among her revelations are being a rape victim, incest in her family, and witnessing her maternal grandfather, a pedophile, commit murder. Freedom in Truth: Memoirs of Deliverance and Restoration from Past Abuse and Scandal documents Michaela's journey to discover these truths and to overcome the negative effects created from the traumas she had experienced.
The three main keys that Michaela discusses in Freedom in Truth that helped her survive through the traumas and then to overcome the negative effects are Scriptural encouragement, prayer, and her love of learning. She credits the presence of her paternal grandmother and the Lord with her not having ended up on the streets, in the penitentiary, or six feet under somewhere like many victims of such abuse and trauma end up.
Years ago as Michaela wrote in her journal as a part of her recovery process she never dreamed that she would someday write a book documenting her journey. Many of her journal entries are included in Freedom in Truth.
Michaela chose the title Freedom in Truth based on John 8:32, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Michaela discovered the ugly truths in her past, found freedom through Christ and encourages other victims to do likewise throughout her testimony of God's deliverance and saving grace. To protect other innocent victims in her family, Michaela chose not to write her memoirs using her legal name. All of the names and places in Freedom in Truth are disguised to not reveal Michaela's true identity.
Freedom in Truth is available at Amazon, at Barnes & Noble, and at local bookstores, upon request.
