Tori Shawabout this book: I Had A Secret for Seventeen Years tells my life story, centered around an abortion I had as a teenager. I was covered by guilt and shame due to my choice at 16 years old. I dealt with depression, fear, anxiety, self-loathing, and addictions. After hiding my dark secret for seventeen years, I finally shared my story with the world. Through my story, God built a ministry that helps abortion-minded women choose life for their babies and shares God's forgiveness and love with post-abortive women. I Had a Secret for Seventeen Years enables the reader to see a post-abortive woman come full circle and embrace the world of possibilities God makes available to those who are willing.
The cover of this book is an actual photo of me taken inside the former clinic where I had my abortion in 1999. There are several related photos in the book taken by Angela Forker, who also wrote the book's foreword.
I hope this book will allow readers to see the truth behind abortion. It is not the easy way out. It is not the best way to "take care of the problem." A woman carries a baby for 9 months but will carry an abortion for the rest of her life.
