Sleep Aid for Babies Review: Homedics SS-3000 Soundspa Lullabycategories: Baby, Relaxation, Sleep Machine, Sleep Aid, Sound Machine, Projector, Lullaby
If the Projector Stops RotatingThere is a small black washer on the end of the final driven gear for the rotating projector, that sits atop a spring on the shaft. Ours stopped rotating, and about an hour later and a dozen screws, I found that the washer had somehow made its way off the shaft (probably due to swapping out discs, pushing up and down on the slider). I put it back on the shaft, put all the pieces together (multiple tabs and slots, 3 screws are underneath the soft foot pads that must be removed, and have to pry a few wires from under a clip on the projector unit), plugged it back in, and it works! So one must ask themselves, is the $20 for a new one worth the hour or two of figuring that out (it's pretty much the final part to get to, and one needs a smallish Philips screwdriver, as well as eyeglass screwdrivers). But it can be fixed, if this is the only problem. I also noticed that the gears are somewhat fragile plastic gears, which won't last for many months of use. Sticker says "Made in China" of course. Great idea, and our son loves it! Poor execution by China (not my first trouble with Chinese made products). Maybe just buy 3 on sale to start with, and toss them, sell them off used and partially working, or just use them as sound machines after the projectors quit.
