Durable, Colorful M&d Cutting Food BoxI found the Melissa and Doug Cutting Food Box to be a nice addition to my young child's toy collection. Most children want to mimic what their parents do each day and "cooking" is one of the my child's favourite activities. The colourful play food included in this set allows for realistic play. The crunching or slicing sounds make my child believe that she is actually cutting up food just like mommy does in the kitchen. This product is also helpful for introducing young children to a few fruits and veggies while learning their names. It promotes hand-eye coordination by allowing kids to Velcro the foods back together after slicing and the strong, wooden storage box allows for easy clean-up and storage. I also love the durability of the pieces. The paint has lasted through hours of play and wooden play food holds up much better than the traditional plastic pieces. I would truly recommend this product as a great gift idea for any young child.
