String Trimmer Review: Troy-Bilt TB70SS 17-Inch 31cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Straight-Shaft String Trimmer with Detachable Shaftcategories: Tools & Home Improvement, Power & Hand Tools, String Trimmer
Don't Waste Your Time, MoneyGot a TB70SS to replace my trusty Ryobi, which just plain wore out. TB was a finalist since it would accept all the attachments I had for the Ryobi. TB was advertised as light, capable, and durable. Well, it is indeed a bit lighter. Mis-assembled in Mexico, it won't idle -- stalling at the instant you're not running full throttle. Conveniently located kill switch will be a non-issue, since merely taking your finger off the gas will allow it to stall out. All the usual bugaboos were checked (gas, oil mixture, plug gap, debris, air cleaner, spark arrestor, yadda yadda). It's just plain crappy. I'm taking it back and looking for another Ryobi.
