Great For Number-Crunching Athletes
I just purchased the Garmin Forerunner GPS Receiver a month ago and I have been very happy with it. Because of my stressful banking job, I typically only get the chance to run during weekends. I have to say that having this makes the workouts extremely enjoyable. I don't know; maybe it's because I'm a numbers geek that makes me so happy to see the statistics, rates, and percentages of my workout. For one thing, I like the customizable data screens and tracking software that makes it easy for me to do post-workout analysis. This is extremely helpful when you like going off-trail as much as I do. Instead of constantly doing calculations in your head, the Forerunner allows you to concentrate on your run. I like how I can also see the distance traveled and average space when I look at it while running. However, I do wish that they took the time to make the font bigger so it's more readable. Also, I've given up using it indoors, since the reception's pretty spotty. Generally, it's a great buy.
