USB Wi-Fi Adapter Review: Sony USB Wi-Fi Adaptercategories: Electronics, Computers & Accessories, Networking Products, Network Adapters, USB Network Adapters, usb network adapter
I Must be Doing Something WrongI don't want to bad mouth this product - other than to say I must be in the minority - I've had it for a week and have had no success in making my wireless server 'see' it. I was delighted to find that it came with my KDL-EX700 HDTV since I was planning to buy one and almost missed it tucked away in all the styrofoam packaging. I've tried the set-up process numerous times to no avail. I called Sony support and they essentially had me try things I'd already been doing again with no success. They said I'd have to call Sony during business hours and have a tech walk me through some additional steps.
The only problem is I work almost 70 miles from home, so even if I could get them on the phone, I'd be nowhere near the system to try the things they might walk me through. My server is an AT&T U-verse hub and it sees virtually everything I've put in proximity to it - except this UWA-BR100 dongle. Work laptop, Nintendo Wii, etc - no problem, but this item just doesn't want to show up. I tried resetting the TV but it didn't make any difference. I hope it's something that can be worked through, but I'm starting to think that I may possibly have a defective unit.
