Jo Michaelsabout this book: This book is a one of a kind zombie novel for young adult readers. It takes you on a wild ride exploring the darker side of humanity. I wrote it because I felt there was a huge gap in the zombie novel genre. One that needed to be filled oh so desperately! Primary readers would be between the ages of 13-21. I don't recommend it for younger children because of a couple of graphic scenes. I chose the title because the MC, Trixie, becomes a zombie like figure. My cover was chosen by my fans (as many of my covers are) and I think they picked just the right one.
Everything in the book is based on fact. If you search out Kuru disease and prions, you'll find there's a very good possibility the situation in the book could actually take place.
It was difficult writing the emotional scenes in the book. But it seems to have paid off because everyone has said they needed tissues after reading it.
Take a chance on it. You won't be sorry you did.
