Brandon Berntson about this book: An unrequited love story involving two teenagers, a night at Rose Hill Cemetery, and the undead. This is a very unique take on a not so average zombie tale. Madness, love, and death take place on a late January night between the fog and the tombs.
I wrote this when I was living in Idaho with my dad in '93. Rose Hill was very unique and I used to take the time to stroll through it at night. One night, when I was cultivating my curious inspiration for dark things, I managed to wander all the way there in the pouring rain and noticed a freshly dug grave with roses on it. Somehow, the sight was quite beautiful, even if that sounds a little morbid. The rose petals were glistening in the rain, and I thought of a love story involving two teenagers and a night at the cemetery. To Disturb the Dead was the result.
