Krysten Lindsay Hagerabout this book: Landry Albright is an eighth grader who just wants to be one of the interesting girls at school who seem to have more exciting lives. Instead, she feels like the girl who gets forgotten about or looked over. Then her two best friends, Ericka and Tori, insist that she tryout with them for a reality show modeling competition to be the next "American Ingenue." However, things get complicated when she moves on in the contest and they don't. Suddenly Monday morning at school feels very different as jealous rears its ugly head.
Landry becomes friends with another girl, Devon, from school who is also in the modeling competition. At first, Landry thinks she's found a new best friend, but their friendship gets tested as the two girls move on in the contest.
Landry starts to see her old friends (and her new friends) true colors as she learns about loyalty, envy, being true to yourself, and what it means to have and to be a real friend.
