Deborah Heal about this book: Unclaimed Legacy is the second book in my Time and Again series for young adults. Unclaimed Legacy doesn't fit easily into one genre. It is part mystery (Abby and John have a murder on their hands—well, on their computer.), part sci-fi (That's the virtual time travel computer program.), and part historical fiction (You get the 1870s story of Frances and Reuben AND the one about Lewis and Clark.). Added to all this, is the budding romance between Abby and John.
It was fun weaving all these into my story. And why not? They're what I best like to read myself. An added bonus for me was getting to do the historical research. I hope you have fun going back in time with Abby and John to the places I studied.
I wrote with a young adult audience in mind, but people tell me Unclaimed Legacy is suitable for adults too. That's probably because I don't believe in talking down to my readers, which is why I deal with some heavy topics (for example, sexual temptation, wife abuse, murder, and arson.) But in spite of all that, Unclaimed Legacy is a story of redemption and a legacy reclaimed, the reassurance of God's blessing to a thousand generations.
