Leslie Millerabout this book: The Girl With the Half and Half Face is a YA fantasy that will take readers deep into an intriguing new world. The story explores the dilemma of a girl who has a unique internal guidance system—one that she doesn't trust at all, even after two years of extensive training. But when enemies come to take her, she must run for her life and she's forced to trust this guidance, known as the Core, to survive.
I got the idea from my own work with a teacher who gave me a great gift—the ability to accurately access my own inner guidance. But much to my surprise, I discovered I frequently didn't like the guidance and didn't want to listen to it. I thought it would be interesting to chronicle the difficulties of surrendering one's ego to a higher guidance within the pages of an adventure novel.
It took me a long time to come up with the title, but as soon as I did, the idea for the cover popped into my mind. I send my cover designer a sketch and detailed instructions, and I love what he came up with!
The Girl With the Half and Half Face combines adventure, danger, a new world to explore, a tasty bite of romance, and a whole lot of fun into 240 action packed pages.
Here's what one Amazon reviewer had to say:
