Erika Holzerabout this book: Erika Holzer was Ayn Rand's lawyer and friend. During the early stage of their professional and personal relationship Erika had no intention of becoming a writer in general and a novelist in particular. Like her husband, Henry Mark Holzer, Erika was hungry for as much knowledge as she could obtain from the fascinating and charismatic woman that Ayn Rand was. Erika wanted to steep herself in every imaginable detail about ATLAS SHRUGGED that had clarified and integrated every important aspect of her life. The author-to-be wanted to understand from the source why Rand's novel had the power to transport Erika to another world, one which from her very first (of many) reading had integrated her values, some previously articulated and others just below the surface.
What Erika Holzer didn't realize was that, as a result of her eager, endlessly probing questions to Ayn Rand, Erika was about to embark on a journey that would lead her to forsake the law in favor of literature.
