Sherrie Croninabout this book: What if you are capable of far more than you realize? I started playing with this question years ago, fueled by my love of superheroes and of speculative fiction of all kinds. My idea was that ordinary people might each have extraordinary powers within them that would be a function of their own personalities and their unique needs.
From this I began to craft a story inspired loosely by my own family with its five very different individuals. Three of the five novels are finished now and x0 is the first in the collection. Each is a stand alone story about the adventures of a regular person who is pushed to discover their own particular strengths.
The first hero, Lola, is a fiery empathic woman with a strong sense of justice. As a mother, she will forget her own fears to defend those she sees as helpless or oppressed by bullies. But as a sensible scientist, the last thing she expects is to get a call for help from a telepath who is very much like her. Over the course of the novel, Lola goes from denying her skills to having to rely on them to save her own life and the lives of others.
