Book: Deadbeat Dads by Roseanne Dowellcategories: Book, Ex Wives, Starting Over, Divorce, Mature Women, Women's Fiction
Roseanne Dowellabout this book: I got the idea for this story from my husband. He was at the bank one day and the woman in front of him was talking about her husband who hadn't paid child support. That affected him and when he came home, he suggested I write a book. That was eight years ago. This book has been in the making for a long time.
Erica Morris shouldn't have been surprised when her husband left her for a younger woman, but she was. What hurt the most was he ignored his children and she hadn't received even one child support check from him. It wasn't that he couldn't afford it. He could and then some. Trying to move on with her life, she forms a support group for wives of deadbeat dads and is surprised at how many there are. In the process of rebuilding her life, someone tries to blackmail her. Can she put the past behind her and move on?
• "In Erica's group, someone always has a worst deadbeat dad story that can top yours. In trying to help herself and other women she gets herself into some jams and causes trouble for some people. Worth a read.", 4 stars review
