Carole Brown

Author Carole Brownabout this book: What would you do to avenge the murder of a daughter?

Caught in a cult situation, Caralynne stands alone against the abusive men who care little for the females of the group--until Pastor MacFarland returns to stand with her. Caralynne is outraged at her daughter's murder and seeks revenge. Dayne, the new pastor, seeks only to change the cult views and bring light and hope to Caralynne. Can they work together to find the solution? Can Dayne save Caralynne before it's too late?

An intense and suspenseful novel with touches of light, romance and hope for those who have gone through abuse, for those who seek to encourage and help others and a nudge toward all of us that we might be open to those hurting in the world.

The cover artwork was done through the Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas company and depicts Caralynne Hayman and her two daughters enjoying a forest outing by a creek. The forest indicates dark times for the family. The question begs an answer: How would we react as a parent with a child gone through hardness and selfish desires?

Research was extensive: from tattoos to state settings, from cults to abuse, Biblical history to scriptural verses. An intense novel, it took multiple edits to reach the level of highest emotion possible for the reader yet also able to offer gentle relief too. The title was the first chosen and as the book was written became a part of the story. Caralynne . . . and her redemption. Sometimes it comes in the form of religion and/or others and sometimes through realization and forgiveness for one's self, and then there's also the probablity of paying for one's misdeeds. For Caralynne, there was hope and forgiveness and restitution.

For those who read the book, I truly hope your eyes are opened to the awfulness of abuse and your heart is stirred to act to stop it, to understand and encourage those who suffer through it, and to be vigilant in guarding against it.

Enjoy . . . and learn!
