Julie Fraynabout this book: It Isn't Cheating if He's Dead is a modern day fairy tale complete with damsel in distress, white knight, village paupers, an evil step-mother, a castle, and happily ever after. The story is full of rich characters and a palpable sense of place. It is an uplifting and sexy tale that is never sappy.
• "I thought this was going to be cute chick-lit, but it was so much more!" — Jan Moutz
• "Mental illness and street people--and yet this is a romance!" — Bobby Hutchinson
This story was inspired by the idea of writing about a woman who falls in love with a homeless man. In the end, that's not what happens. No matter how hard I tried to keep them apart, Jemima and Finn (the detective in charge of the case of Jemima's missing fiance) just couldn't keep their hands off each other. So it became a different kind of love story, with the homeless man central to Jemima's healing after her fiance was found dead.
