I was inspired to write this book while on dialysis. I was diagnosed with systematic lupus and have had two kidney transplants. My last time on dialysis in late 2009 I was really depressed and used writing as a way to deal with the pain and realty I was living. I have gotten better and the story is continuing as I am finishing book 2.The Secrets of the Ghosts-The Sleeper took me about 6months to write. I had a lot of time on my hands being I was on dialysis. The title came from the storyline in the book. The assassins are called ghosts in the book and they are secrets. The cover was chosen based on the first chapter of the book. I felt it was a perfect fit based on Holiday description of herself leaving for a mission. The primary readers for this book will be adult women but, men are not excluded. I didn't do much research for writing this book. It mostly came from my own imagination. Writing this book The Sleeper was not hard but, the difficulty was writing and being really sick the entire time. That was pretty hard. I needed to write though. Writing was helping me not cry and stay positive about living.
I want readers to know this is not a book about me but, rather about a world I created to sustain my sanity. If you would like to enter a world which will change your aspect on your neighbors, friends,co-workers and most of all family this is the book for you. The Sleeper will keep your attention at all times.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
Fresh New Writing - Exciting ThrillerI absolutely loved this book. I loved the way it focused on family, love, marriage, but also brought in fascinating deadly characters. I could not turn the pages quick enough and was disappointed when it ended, lol. You will not be disappointed by this book. Best I've read in ages(fresh&new) compared to so many of the "same ol, same ol" books out there. [by Hanna]
I love Holiday :)I loved this book and can't wait for book 2. She had me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. I couldn't wait to turn the page.
Romantic ThrillerI fell in love with this story because of the way Holiday's passion was so strong towards her husband and family. I love that the women in the book have all distinct individual characteristics and warrior talents that made your mouth water wonder how this will end. I have great expectations for book two.
