Salwa Samra about this book: In the early nineties when I began a journey into Motherhood there were no books available, that I knew of, which entailed a personal story about a mothers journey in and through post natal depression, anxiety, and unusual symptoms arising from these illnesses. Therefore, I set out to provide a book, a personal story, a journey, of my own, that would allow the reader to enter into my world, my experience, my existence through the trials, tribulations, joys, triumphs, anguish and pain of the mask that I wore so well. My mask, through my choice, was slowly peeled off to reveal the figure that lived behind its facade.
I was a strong, independent, visionary personality with a choleric nature that loved life, people, challenges, however, all of this took a detour in my life for a period of time. Life was eager for me to learn what it was like to have the above characteristics stripped away. The future desired for me to write a book. I wrote Losing Me in 2000 it stayed in my own personal world until finally I decided to publish it.
