about her book: Woman. Writer. Traveler. Poet. Imagist. A little bit alien. A little bit obsessed with depth. I always hoped to do a book that combines my love for text married with montage photography, and the metaphoric bleed-throughs...without it being show and tell. And I wanted to do a collection of stories about women, both young, old, and "of a certain age," that would speak to both women and men. I wanted these to be sensual stories, stories of obsessions and longing and eros and aging and being too young, all spoken in my often poetic voice, but down to earth as the cobblestones of Paris, the rooftops of Havana, the elevators of NYC. The FC2 Award for Innovative Fiction, given to this book, allowed me to publish such a book. "Beautiful Soon Enough." Here are some of the story titles: "Before the Second Taste, " "Pas de Deux A Trois," "Heart Open as a Jaw," "Cage," "Animalia," "A Friday Desdemona," "Cannibal Notes." There are more. Intrigued? I do hope...yes. .
"As a collection, this book is utterly satisfying on many levels, even though many characters find little satisfaction in their own lives. Berdeshevsky intertwines form and content in the same way the bodies of strangers come together, impulsively and hungry, who then part, with even deeper desires." –Victoria Featherstone
