Book Review: Sebastian Lives in a Hat by Thelma Catterwellcategories: Books, wildlife
Author: Thelma Catterwell
Publisher: Omnibus Books
From the AuthorJust a few comments about my Sebastian written over 25 years ago when I was living in Morwell National Park where my husband was the Ranger. I raised a total of 8 wombats and the process was not much more complicated than that presented. There was a lot more fun and a great many tears too but I am grateful for the experiences we had as a family in caring for these amazing creatures. My friend had advised me as I began to write to; 'Bring wombats out of obscurity!' And I believe I did do that!
90% of illustrations by Kerry were based on either my acrylic paintings in the layout I sent or my photos of my latest little girl at the time, Nira. The layout used was identical to that which I had submitted and a few pages were exactly as I had presented them in illustration. Photos of my latest little girl at the time, Nira, were also used as the basis for Kerry's work as a master illustrator.
