Barbara Fox about this book: The book is about a fictionalized version of my life as a widow after a long marriage. I wrote the book because keeping a record of my feelings and experiences helped be begin my own Act Two, life as a single after being married for over forty years.
The primary readers would be widows (and widowers) of any age who have lost their spouse and are struggling to cope with being single again, deciding to date, dealing with internet dating, loneliness, paying bills etc. I included simple recipes, techniques for going out alone, quotations and sayings that I found helpful (I called them Widowisms or fortune cookie wisdom) and even some jokes because I really believe in laughter therapy.
I learned that a new relationship is possible and can be found in the most unexpected places and with the most unexpected people. I dated several men and am now in a relationship with a wonderful man (a widower) who is quite a bit younger. I'd like to share my favorite quotation from Abraham Lincoln, "someday you will be happy again."
