In Book 3, Nancy falls for Cooper Saunders, a professional bull rider who has been away from Morris Springs for twenty years. But now Cooper is back, and he's her newest patient at the rehab center.
Cooper only has a few rides left before his retirement. He's injured and needs Nancy to work a miracle in order to get him ready to ride in the PBR finals. Even though he's been warned that one more accident could put him in a wheelchair for life, Cooper needs that win money. He's got a good chance of winning and can't quit before taking that prize-winning ride.
Now, with his body shattered and his spirit trampled, Cooper returns to rehab, and this time he truly needs a miracle. Nancy is there to pick up the pieces and help him through the crisis, but whether he walks again depends on whether or not she can convince Cooper that life really is worth living.
