Velda Brothertonabout this book: Images In Scarlet is one of my favorite books. It's a bit longer and more complex than my earlier books. I instantly fell in love with Jake the wanderer and Allie Caine, who was as much a wanderer as poor Jake, who had suffered greatly in the Civil War. He wasn't sure who he was, or what terrible deeds he might have committed. Allie wasn't sure who she wanted to be, having fled the tragic aftermath of the war in Missouri.
I enjoyed including a mystery in this western historical romance, but some readers have complained that it was too complex for their taste. Others have given it wonderful reviews.
• "I just finished reading IMAGES IN SCARLET. I absolutely loved the story and could barely put it down." This from Jim Davis who gave it five stars.
• "Velda's descriptive style of writing is easy to read, and the book unfolds like a movie before your eyes. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance with intrigue included." This from Vada Wolter, who also gave the book five stars.
It was difficult for me to leave Allie and Jake when the book was finished, and I still think of them sometimes and wonder how they're doing.
I'm pleased to have this book posted Free on Amazon May 18 through 20. Hope everyone will grab themselves a copy.
