Celia Yearyabout this book: After the first Dime Novel, Angel and the Cowboy, Rebecca Vickery asked me to write another one. Fortunately, I had an outline written, thinking I'd write the story to submit to another publisher that was accepting submissions for a series about outlaws and lawmen. But when Rebecca asked, I thought so much of her and the kind and generous way she treated her authors, I decided to write it and see what she thought.
Oh, my, she loved it. Well, actually, I loved my own story, so she made me a very happy author.
This one begins with Jude Morgan stuck in a filthy jail in a far-flung western town. He knows he was railroaded, or just plain profiled, because he'd done nothing except get in a barroom fight along with a bunch of other rowdies. Why did the sheriff arrest him? Had his reputation followed him?
In walks a beautiful woman behind the disgusting sheriff who spit on the already filthy floor.
She claims he's her long-lost husband, and since he never thought of himself as a stupid person, he just plays along.
True, she wants him to pose as her husband. He wants one thing to seal the bargain. A kiss..
Does this lead to a romance? Or does the job seem to contrived to continue?
ADDIE AND THE GUNSLINGER has been a huge success. I'm so thrilled with the results.
