Book: Prey For The Vampire by Michael Burnsidecategories: Book, Horror, Hammer, Ghost, Victorian, Mystery, Vampire
Michael Burnsideabout this book: Being a fan of the British Hammer Horror films of the 1950s and 1960s, I set out with the goal to write a story in a similar vein and feel of the films. I loved the atmosphere and strong characters featured in the films such as 'The Reptile' and 'Plague of the Zombies'. I am also a huge fan of actors Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.
While my first book took 9 long years to write, this book took a much less 5 months. However I was constantly working on it for several hours every night, sometimes til morning. I would also skip lunch at work and sit at my desk constantly working on it.
I think people who have an interest in mystery, horror and vampires will enjoy it. I don't think there's an age cut off as I've found both teenagers and older persons have equally enjoyed the tale.
I feel very proud of this story and I believe it accomplishes what I set out to write.
