J.L.M. Visada about this book: I wrote this book...well I honestly wrote it because I just love to tell a story, and I had a great time writing it. Originally, I was inspired by my wife. She loves the erotic vampire/paranormal fiction, and so I read a few of the books she bought. That got me hooked on urban fantasy. It seemed to me that as much as I enjoyed reading the stories, I'd really enjoy writing one as well. So the Midnight Squad was born. It's a story about a man that gets asked to train some very powerful women. He starts out seeing them as hot sexy man candy, but ends up seeing them as friends. Joseph and the girls have to come together to save America from a madman bent on world domination. Along the way they become a very weird little family.
It took me a few months to write it in my free time. I believe my primary readers are probably going to be mostly women, at least if my wife is any indication. I think anyone that just wants to have a really great time, and not take things too seriously will probably have a fun time with this book. The hardest part of writing the book was the editing. Just knowing where to cut something out, or if something needs to be rewritten a different way is really time consuming. I really didn't do any research on the book unless you count reading lots and lots of other urban fantasies, and of course watching horror and science fiction movies. I learned from writing the book that no matter how hard I tried to have the whole plot done in my head, that the characters themselves seemed to have other ideas. I'd like to say to my readers that I had a great time writing this, and I hope you have a great time reading it.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
