Michael Mardel about this book: This is the story of a 16 year old girl who is accused of being a lesbian by one of her school friends because she didn't see a guy after a dance. The Catholic Church and her school will not support her, or so she thinks. She finds a sympathetic counsellor who helps her with her self esteem issues but she's still not sure how she wants to live her life as a lesbian. She still parties with her friends until someone at her work as a shoe salesperson tricks her into going to a party where there are only women. Full of self doubt, she moves interstate and stays with her cousin. She finds work in a cafe and meets a lesbian who befriends her and supports her in her quest to becoming a transman. Lots of helpful ideas for those questioning their gender identity and the steps he took so that people saw a boy and not a girl. Written by a transman who transitioned way too late in life.
