Stuart G Yatesabout this book: This book grew out of my living in Spain. I'd had an idea for a thriller, and really wanted it to be local. The more I thought about the setting, the more excited I became. Knowing the area so intimately, this proved an easy thing to do. The characters I drew from a wide range of people, some known to me, others complete, original creations. But the one thing I wanted to convey was a sense of terror. I deliberately set it in high summer, so that oppressive heat could permeate every word. It seemed to work, and I enjoyed writing it so much that I got the bulk of its eighty thousand words down in about two months. This is not that unusual for me as I write fast. Even so, by the time I had gone through the second, then third draft, I knew I had something to be proud of. This is a book for simple entertainment. No need to think too much, although there are enough twists to keep you guessing. A high-octane thriller, with lashing of sex and violence, the hero is to become the main character in a series of thrillers. The second instalment is already done, and the third planned from beginning to end. So, the action won't stop, not until I think it's time.
