Simon Andrew Stubbsabout this book: Jackson Hope is a dark thriller set both in the late nineteenth century and modern day America. It's the story of a small farming community in southern Arizona that is wiped from the map when the Barsdon dam gives way and the waters of the Eagle Star reservoir flood the town. But what caused the devastating disaster? Was it an accident or something far more sinister? Who is General Llewellyn Stape and what are his true intentions for the town? Why do the citizens of Jackson Hope live in fear of his rule and allow him to use the town as his personal playground? What is the strange cemetery at the back of the Grace Baptist church, the one with the neat little crosses all in a row? In modern day we will meet Teddy Llorello, a man tasked with bringing the town back to life, but in the water logged remains of the town we will discover that the ghosts of atrocities past still roam the silent streets, and cause new disasters of their own.
This is a dark tale of evil deeds and the good that stands against them, perfect for lovers of horror / thriller writers such as Stephen King, James Herbert or Graham Masterton.
It took around four years to write, mainly because with two young children and a full time job it's hard to find the time, but it was a work of love, I was fully invested in the characters, especially the bad ones, and I hope that you could be too.
Thank you for taking the time to read this description, I look forward to any feedback I may receive.
