Jon Lymonabout this book: If you've ever woken up after a big night out and had a rush of panic as you frantically try to remember what you got up to the night before, spare a thought for Lloyd Parker. He's about to find out the shocking and gruesome truth about what he got up to at his eighteenth birthday celebration in his local night club.
This is about the worst imaginable case of beerfear and is based on a mix of two Croydon bars I used to frequent back in the 1990s. One of the bars was called The Stairway, so those of you on the ball will have spotted that bar was the inspiration for the title. The other, The Loop on Crown Hill, provided the inspiration for the layout of the club.
If you like books in which nothing is as it appears to be, Last Night At The Stairways is for you. But beware, it could put you off clubbing for life!
