Inge H. Borgabout this book: I never intended to write another book for my Legends of the Winged Scarab series. Mainly, because how does one keep it fresh and still maintain continuity-without regurgitating too many facts from the previous books? For serial readers, this could get tedious.
I wanted to have each novel be a stand-alone. Apparently, I must have succeeded because as one reviewer points out, "If this is your first Borg thriller, you will be provided with enough back-story to read with full enjoyment," while another says, "The series has remained fresh...There is action, adventure, and treachery throughout... It's a bit like Indiana Jones, but better." If you asked me, that puts me in good company.
As far as research is concerned, I do a lot of it. Places, measurements, nautical terms, historical events are all pretty much correct.
Now, as to why a fourth book? I came across the mysterious (and by Egypt denied) existence of The Lost Labyrinth of Egypt, I knew it would be a fantastic setting for The Crystal Curse - there are things going on in that enormous two-story pre-Egyptian underground maze we can only speculate about...what are they? You'll just have to read the book to find out.
The ending (of the book, not the series since I just started another novel within it-about another tremendously shocking event happening) should cause everyone to reflect what's going on in the world.
I personally think this one is the best of the bunch - so far. I can't wait to find out what's going to happen in the next one though...I hope you will too.
