Bobby Hundleyabout this book: The Iron Relic was inspired by a hand made cross pendant given to co-author Bobby Hundley from his own Papa Henry. The cover art for the book features this cross which represents the backside of the pendant from our story and secret chamber said to contain the tip from the Holy Nail. In The Iron Relic Book I: The Crossing, Doctor Adam Calhoun finds himself thrust into a journey of faith, history and danger after inheriting a crucifix pendant believed to possess the healing powers of Christ. Adam's billionaire great grandfather passes the secret heirloom down to the young doctor after relaying the tale of how the relic came into his possession; a dangerous archeological excavation in which he uncovered one of the nails used in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Soon after taking ownership of the pendant, a patient of Dr. Calhoun experiences a miraculous healing, leading Adam to become the target of sinister characters out to steal the relic.
This book offers readers an exciting thriller that inspires faith and drives our curiosity of modern miracles. Several of the characters in the Iron Relic are symbolic of characters found in the Bible, so while its not necessary to thoroughly enjoy this book, readers who do have some experience with the Bible will find another fun element of depth to the book series. The story revolving around Adam Calhoun in The Iron Relic is part of a two part series beginning with The Iron Relic Book I: The Crossing which focuses primarily on Adam's action adventure and journey of faith and concludes with The Iron Relic Book II: Revelations.
"The intensely poetic writing of Bobby and James makes this not another Dan Brown `Da Vinci Code' take off, but instead a book suffused with a respect of spiritualism and the life beyond that makes it a book that not only entertains very well indeed, but also challenges our perceptions of miracles, faith, and the next life. A mystery, a thriller, and a warmly tender story, THE IRON RELIC is a fine introduction to a now anticipated series," concluded reviewer Grady Harp.
