Dr. Frank Chase Jrabout this book: Tithing has been around for centuries. In the book, KLEPTOMANIAC: Who's Really Robbing God Anyway, you will be taken on a journey into the annuals of biblical history concerning what the Bible teaches about tithing and giving. The subtitle of the book is, The Untwisted Truth About the Centuries Old Tithes and Offering Deception. Anybody who pays ten percent of their income to a church or a 501c3 will want to know if God considers people who do not pay a tenth of their income as God robbers and kleptomaniacs. This book will show you how to give and not become a victim of a Sunday morning stickup week after week in church. This information this book reveals about tithing is like taking a proverbial archeological trek back in time to uncover the true meaning of biblical words that deal with money. When confusion exists about what certain words mean in the Bible, such as tithe, tithing, tenth or ten percent, this book will examine the Hebrew and Greek language to bring to life what these words actually mean in context. Many common beliefs about tithing will be upended based on the history of the original people of the Bible and how they related to money.
You will lean about the history of the tithe, and the culprits who managed to change the Scripture so that all people would think a tithe of money is required by God. Dr. Frank Chase Jr's, theological discovery of what tithing is sent him on a research journey into the land, language and literature of the Hebrew people to find out if tithing as taught by modern pastors is really what the Bible actually teaches. In Chapter one, Dr. Chase shares his personal story of what happened as a result of rejecting and resigning from tithing to embrace New Covenant giving principles from the New Testament. The cover design of the book is a word cloud of words that represent how people think about tithing. The collage of words on the cover represent confusion about tithing and the book will sort out the words and bring clarity to a topic that's been lost for generations. In fact, the original cover of the book would have had a gun with the barrel pointing at the reader with the title, Are You Robbing God of Tithes and Offering? However that Idea did not make the cut.
The title of the book, is one of the names some pastors like to use when addressing congregants who don't tithe ten percent of their income. Thieves and God robbers are other names use to describe people who don't tithe. Writing the book was a journey in uncovering truth and I learned so much about God's attitude toward the poor, hungry, widows and orphans. I also learned that no one can deceive you about anything especially giving if you are willing to study and research. The inspiration for writing this book came from an incident in church several years ago about whether Jews were saved or not saved according to what Christians teach. During that conversation, tithing came up and a comment about the Jewish people became important as to whether they believed in Jesus or Not. That lead me to contact a Jewish rabbi about tithing. When I read his pamphlet, tears came down my face and a sense of relief came over me when I learned that I was never a God robber. From that time, long held questions that I had about the doctrine of tithing resurfaced after practicing it for 30 years. After resigning from tithing, I was indirectly kicked out of my church.
The book started out as a 117 page power point study and after a couple of years, I was asked if the study would ever be turned into a full-fledged research book. At that time, I resisted, but finally gave in and wrote the book. This book is a road map on how to cut through the thick deception of many tithe doctrines that exist in Christianity. On every page you will know the difference between tithing and giving and you will learn about the false doctrine of first fruits that's claiming the wallets and purses of many unsuspecting believers and those that are not aware. What you read in this book will set you free to give from the heart irrespective of percentage. If you read this book, you'll perhaps discover that the real God robbers are the ones who called you out from the pulpit
