Rick L. Phillipsabout this book: The book is a fan fiction book that takes place in 1967. It is a murder that is investigated by reporter Josh Adams and the rock group the Monkees. The title is a play on words from the title of their hit song Last Train to Clarksville. The hardest part of writing the book was on deciding what personality to give Peter Tork. He played the dummy on the show but he is really a very smart person. I decided to go with his TV personality since that is the one that is known by most people. The research I did for the book was looking at old train records from that time. I also wanted to have the train they are on going from Los Angeles to a town named Clarksville. I didn't know which one. I wanted it to be in Indiana, Ohio or Tennenesse. If found an old train record that actually had the last train from Los Angeles leaving for Indiana and that Clarksville, Indiana had a long history with the railroad. So I guess it was meant to be. If you are a fan of the Monkees you will love this book. What gets them involved is that Peter is a suspect in the murder so they investigate to clear his name.
