Book: Making Money in Thailand - A Retiree's Guide (Thailand Retirement) by Godfree Peter Roberts

Godfree Robertsabout this book: I retired to Thailand after losing my California business in the GFC and having only $1200/mo. Social Security to live on.
To my surprise I've had more fun with less stress and am enjoying a higher standard of living now.
Most of my good luck was actually created for me by a bunch of helpful expats who had already settled here. They'd figured out how to afford nice homes, annual trips abroad and a generally relaxed lifestyle – while running side-businesses to supplement their modest pensions.
They were surprisingly eager to share their experience and suggestions, and even to partner with me when I could bring something useful to a new venture.
Now that I've joined their ranks (annual trips back to Australia, lazy days by the Ping River) I've jotted down details of 20+ ways they make money in The Land of Smiles, along with an outline of Thai business culture, language, laws, costs, budgets, and stories of real expats who were my inspirations. Even videos of them bitching about Thai Government bureaucracy.
The book covers a lot of ground in 108 pages and isn't designed to answer every question (I give me email address for that). It's a realistic starting point, however.
It breaks down costs and budgets and provides sources, links, videos, and stories that are designed to help you build up a picture of how things work here and what are the opportunities for foreigners to make a living.
