Randal Shirleyabout this book: Charley, the Rock and the Hard Place is the 'stand-alone' sequel to Looking for Charley.
Charley and Russell Courtney had been pursued around the globe for years by a ruthless Hezbollah faction seeking revenge for them passing critical information to the Israelis.
After a final violent confrontation with their pursuers in the Tasmanian wilderness, their troubles appear to be over: literally dead and buried. They are free to live a normal family life, or so it seems.
Now, some six years later, with new identities and living a peaceful existence with their ten year old daughter, Russell makes a fateful decision while flying a light plane across the Bass Straight which gets his face in the news and opens a whole new can of worms.
They are on the run again, in Australia and Europe, and can no longer look to Mossad for help. Whatever they do, wherever they try to hide,Hezbollah are right behind them. The only solution is to make a stand. A man and a woman against determined trained killers. The odds don't look good.

Loved itI'm no great fan of male authors but I really enjoyed this one. I hated Russ at times and at others I liked him and even felt sorry for him. I suppose that made the story more believable. [by Eileen Evans]
A cracking yarnAn original story, unusual and well-written, full of twists and turns right to the very last page. Courtney, the main character, is one of the most believable I have come across in a long time. Top marks. [by Clive Buckle]
A great readI thoroughly enjoyed this book and hardly put it down until the last page. Gripping and original. Now I'll have to read the prequel. [by Paul Masters]
