Book Review: As the World Ends by Marian Lanouette
|5 stars, 1 review|
Marian Lanouetteabout this book: I heard so much about the Mayan prophecy that it caught my attention and got my imagination going. What if they were all wrong and the date was December 21, 2013. What if it happened a year later? After I asked myself those questions the next question that popped into my head scared me. Could my husband and I survive and live off the land if necessary? Could we kill another human being so we could live?
From all these questions came the idea for As the World Ends. It's a story of survival; but it's more. It's a story of love and triumph. How one couple not only fought nature but how they fought the earth's worse predator. Man!
• Who are the primary readers?
I'd have to say, readers who love a good suspense mixed in with a little romance.
• How long did it take you to write it?
I wrote this in three weeks for a contest. It wasn't chosen, so I went into deep edits, fining tuning my idea. That took three months.
• Why did you choose the cover?
I think the cover portrays the urgency of the event along with showcasing the couple is fighting for their very existence.
I've been told by readers who have read it, that they wanted to jump into the story and kill Roan Kline the predator themselves. I think that is high praise.

what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
What would YOU do?Marian Lanouettes books are quickly becoming my favorites. ATWE makes you think what would you do if the end happened? How would you react to situations never before thought about? How ready can we be for the world to end? The love shared by the couple is heartwarming and the sex it hot! Roan, ugh, you want to smack him or kill him yourself. Also makes you think; how will you protect yourself? I couldn't put the book down. Read every moment I had the chance. A book I will read again. And think I need to get prepared! First stop, find a Rob.
