Krissie Williamsabout this book: The Meanest January is the first book of a supernatural trilogy. The title came from a personal event in my life. It was the month of January a few years ago, and well, someone let me down and did a very mean thing to me. I thought to myself, January is a really mean month-the snow and the frigid temperatures and such. Some people can be just as cruel as the weather.
The book's central plot revolves around three women from different backgrounds are forced to converge together to stop a family curse. The primary readers of my book are independent women who are not afraid to kick some ass! I have always been an avid reader of supernatural/paranormal books so I thought I'd take a stab at it.
The hardest part of my book was the character development. At this stage of my career, I am delving into what a human actually thinks-what they do and what the motivation is for their actions. Why do they drink tea instead of coffee? Why do they stay when we know they should leave? We humans are tediously complicated. It also examines the power of relationships. What will we do to start, preserve, or end a relationship?
I hope my readers enjoy the ride!
