Stuart Doyleabout this book: 'High Dependency' is my story of a fight against a one in a million auto-immune disease. This condition can strike anyone, at any time, and yep, any age. It burned me from the inside out, i lost 90% of my skin through second and third degree burns. It also left me in chronic pain, and blind. That said, i am lucky, i may have had to go through all of that, plus a six week coma in the ICU, and another six weeks on a ward learning how to eat and walk again, but, I'm alive! Many who get this horrific condition are not so lucky. What's the condition called? - Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Syndrome. This is my account of how i went from an ordinary young man, in love and with a new baby boy, to a bloated blackened fleshless lump on full life support. Then my hard journey back to the living. Thrown in are humorous tales from my career as a chef, and even a visit from Gordon Ramsay whilst i lay in my burning coma. All in all, you'll laugh, cry, and hopefully leave feeling uplifted.
